Mix Martial Arts   

Our Mix Martial Arts (MMA) program covers a broad spectrum of kicking, boxing, clinch, takedowns, grappling and ground fighting training drills for a complete mixed martial artist enthusiast.  

  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - The guard position and many of the various submission holds, including joint locks, chokes, and compression locks, come from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
  • Wrestling - Clinches and takedowns entered the MMA repertoire thanks to collegiate wrestling
  • Judo - Hip toss and other throws are judo’s gift to MMA.
  • Muay Thai - Kicks, as well as knee-and-elbow moves, in MMA are attributed to Muay Thai
  • Boxing - The strikes used in MMA (jab, uppercut, cross, and hook) may look familiar if you have ever watched a traditional western boxing match.
  • Taekwondo – Dynamic Kicks (roundhouse kicks) and explosive power

Attire

Shorts (no cargo shorts), T-shirt (no shirts with buttons) and rash guards.  If sparring is involved additional equipment such as 14/16 oz gloves, shin pads, headgear, a mouth guard, groin protection, MMA and Boxing gloves must always be worn.

Join us for a fast-paced, high-energy workout incorporating the most traditional and practical of martial arts.  Our program is great for the seasoned competitor and interested novice alike.  All ages are welcome.  Our devoted instructors will work with you whether your goal is to improve your cardio, or prepare for a tournament.
